Our data integrity checks and our spot-inspections are examples of our built-in quality measures.
The introduction of CD-ROM and CD audio media was a revolution in audio and communication when they debuted in the early 1980s. They’ve since become the standard in the music, software, and gaming industries and continue to be the most reliable and effective medium for delivery of digital and electronic content.
They’ve also become the best medium for delivery of dynamic and interactive content for marketing and communications projects. Data and audio CDs have a storage capacity of 650 MB or 74 minutes. We’re very proud of our high standard of excellence in producing data and audio CD products. Our data integrity checks and our spot-inspections as media come off of the assembly line are just a few examples of our built-in quality measures. We also strictly adhere to the “Yellow Book” standard (an internationally homogeneous set of standards for producing high quality CD-ROM media).
A DVD (digital versatile disc) is an optical disc storage format that can be used for data storage. It is a medium that can store data with very high video and sound quality. DVDs resemble compact discs. Their diameter is the same (120 mm (4.72 inches) or occasionally 80 mm (3.15 inches) in diameter) but they are encoded in a different format and at a much higher data density. They can store any type of digital data.
Upon its introduction into the market, the DVD format became the most successful consumer electronics product in history in a very short 3 years. It has since become the standard for the entertainment and video industry. Film companies almost exclusively take advantage of this medium to deliver high-resolution video content and special bonus features on DVDs that you purchase for your home library. DVD is the epitome of a dynamic way to deliver video and provides the best quality from original master content.
The applications of DVDs are endless for business marketing and communications. Increasingly, companies and organizations are using the medium as a method to not only deliver video content but to deliver software products, multimedia presentations, and marketing information. Animation studios, film houses, independent filmmakers, and television studios are all using DVD as the standard format for everything from product releases to providing entire seasons of popular television shows.
There are a few different types of DVD media: DVD-5, DVD-9, DVD-10, and Blu-Ray:
- DVD-5 is the standard DVD that you’ll find on a retail store shelf. The storage capacity is 4.7 GB. They are single-sided and have a single layer.
- DVD-9 is becoming increasingly popular as a format, especially for seasons of a television series. They have a storage capacity of 8.5 GB. They are single-sided and double-layered. DVD-10 is a high-capacity DVD. They hold upwards of 9.4 GB of information, and are double-sided and double-layered.
